칠리부스터는 단열 분무기이며 냉각장치나 건조 냉각기와 같은 응축 장치에 사용되기 전 공기의 냉각을 위해 증발 냉각을 사용합니다. 측미적 입자로의 물 분사는 자연 증발을 선호하며 온도를 떨어뜨리기 위한(물 1 킬로그램 증발을 위해 공기로부터 0.69 kW의 열량 흡수)주변 공기의 증발 자체에 필요한 열 에너지의 일부를 사용합니다. 공기를 습구온도 근처로 가져오는 것은 여름 동안 응축 장치(냉각장치)로부터 요구되는 작업부하의 결과적인 감소와 함께 이것의 온도가 대략 10-15°C 정도 낮아지게 되고 따라서 상당한 에너지 절약 즉 전기 kW가 남았음을 의미합니다. 칠리부스터는 반드시 압축 펌프(10바)가 장착된 캐비닛과 응축 장치 주변의 배치를 위해 강철 매니폴드에 고정된 노즐장치로 구성되어야 합니다: 분사는 흐름에 반대하여 진행되기 때문에 냉각장치의 팬에 의해 빨려 들어가는 입자들은 증발을 위해 더 긴 이동거리와 더 많은 시간을 갖게 됩니다. 이 같은 방식으로, 공기가 냉각되고 배터리의 열 교환은 상당히 증가하게 됩니다. 입자의 일부는 배터리의 플랩을 적셔 열을 흡수하고 증발시켜 열 교환을 증가시킵니다.
칠리부스터는 더운 날 최대 부하의 피크를 줄임으로써 냉각장치 효율성을 극대화 하여 여름철에 세계적으로 상당한 에너지 절약을 위해 사용될 수 있습니다. 애플리케이션 개장뿐만 아니라, 칠리부스터의 특징들은 계획 단계에서도 고려될 수 있으며 이를 통해 에너지 소비량이 적은 작고 저렴한 냉각장치를 선택할 수 있습니다. 칠리부스터는 다양한 용량으로 제공됩니다: 100, 500, 1000 l/h. 노즐의 용량은 5 - 7.5 - 15 l/h입니다. 칠리부스터는 탈염수와 주 급수 모두의 사용이 가능하며 사용 후의 전도성은 일정 값 이하로 떨어지지 않습니다.-
